“Thank you very much for including one of my tunes on your album, along with those of these other great composers. I am very grateful. I wrote this song at home in Brussels in 1985 and 1986, in the company of Jacky Lepage, a photographer friend of mine. The melody came to me suddenly, pouring out of my guitar, with the undivided attention of my music-loving friend. Personally, I am rarely so spontaneous. The track’s name comes from part of a title in a collection of short stories by Milan Kundera called Laughable Loves.” (Philip Catherine)
